Research Articles - Between 6,000 and 14,000 words, averaging 9,000 to 10,000 words. This article type presents research study(s) performed by the authors. The discussion and conclusions are based on the results of the research study and a review of the literature presented within. 

Point of View Articles - Between 2,000 and 6,000 words, averaging 4,000 words. This article presents the authors directed argument toward a certain set of conclusions. They use the literature, logic, data, and other augments to justify their conclusions; however, they do not conduct a research study of their own. 

Case Study Articles - Between 6,000 and 10,000 words, averaging 7,000 words. This article presents an author directed first hand study of particular company(s), organization(s), group(s) or event(s). The paper details the need for the study, the methods of observation or recording, method of analysis, and details of the case(s). A discussion and conclusions for the case(s) are also provided. 

Teaching Case Study Articles - Between 6,000 and 12,000 words, averaging 8,000 words. This article presents a theory, method, process, or the like, then discusses an organization in a particular situation where that new information can be applied. Students answer questions at the end of the case study. Sample answers to questions are placed at the end of the case study. Unfortunately, there is a huge shortage of teaching case studies for innovation.
